Telekom Malaysia launches unique interactive fundraiser

Renowned Malaysian telecommunications provider – and long-term Appco client – Telekom Malaysia surprised many with a one-of-a-kind call for donations via an interactive TV commercial. The ad was also released on other media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

Telekom Malaysia’s interactive ad aims to encourage people to donate money by clicking on the video. At the end of the TVC, a counter displays the amount of donations amassed from real-time clicks. The donations will be extended to several charities such as the Sabah Earthquake Relief Fund and the AIDS-concerned organisation, WAKE.

Telekom Malaysia’s fundraising initiative is believed to be the first instance in the country where TVC has been used as the main platform for gathering donations. Apart from providing first-rate services to its subscribers, Telekom Malaysia also aspires to fulfil its charitable endeavours.
